On the first and third Tuesday of every month, we serve a free, hot meal from 12pm-1pm on the Square. Food Not Bombs is a nonhierarchical mutual aid organization that aims to minimize food waste and build community by redistributing food to the community. We are open to all as volunteers and recipients; we do not distinguish between "servers" and "served". We are hoping to expand and add some Saturday servings soon, but are low on volunteers. Fresh Match at Farmers on the Square

Address: 2A N Hanover St, Carlisle, PA 17013

What To Find:

Vegetables, fruit, meat, cheese, frozen soup, etc - just about anything SNAP-eligible!

Notes:

Farmers on the Square takes place from 3-6pm every Wednesday year-round, extending to 3-7pm from April 1st-October 15th and taking off only Dec. 31st-January 1st. Through Fresh Match, we usually give a 100% match for the first $20 of EBT (SNAP, WIC, etc) benefits a customer redeems, or for any FMNP/SFMNP checks distributed by the state. Until benefit distribution begins again, we will give $10 in Fresh Match vouchers for free weekly to anyone presenting an EBT card with no funds remaining on it. These can be used to purchase anything SNAP-eligible at the market.

Note on 11/4/25: We are proud to announce that, thanks to our partners at @thefoodtrust, we will have EVEN MORE additional assistance available at the market for those suffering from the interruptions to SNAP benefits that so many Americans rely on for access to food. All of these practices will continue until regular SNAP benefits begin to be paid in full OR until we run our of funding to support it. (Thanks to some generous recent donations from community members, it's looking more likely to be the former case than the latter!)

For individuals who STILL HAVE FUNDS on their EBT cards, we will give a 100% Food Bucks match with NO cap, PLUS our usual $10 match on the first $20. In other words, if you withdraw $20 of EBT funds, you'll have $50 total ($10 from Fresh Match and $20 of Food Bucks) instead of the usual $40; if you withdraw $30, you'll have $70 total ($10 from Fresh Match and $30 from Food Bucks); and so on.

For those who have NO FUNDS REMAINING on their EBT cards (we will check the balance to confirm beforehand), we can give $20 every week: $10 from our community Fresh Match funds, and $10 of Food Bucks.

As a reminder, Food Bucks can only be spent on fresh fruits and vegetables, while Fresh Match funds can be spent on any SNAP-eligible items and our market. We can make it through this together. We will see you on the Square, every Wednesday from 3-6pm!
